Professional football from 1937-1952

Salgotarj�n, a small city in north territory in Hungary he started playing football, soccer but the nostalgi brought him back to Szeged where he born in 1936. Enlisted (voluntarily) join the army. 1937 The Army began to take note of his soccer skill. He was not a starter goalkeeper in this team at the beginning. However SZEAC took him as number one in 1938 and finished third in Hungarian first division championship
Later a Budapest team was interested of his goal keeping a famous team GAMMA
Since the Gamma military factories were not able to sign him as a soldier, he been exempted from the military. Later he was playing for these soccer clubs Gamma Szeged FC FC UTE will MTK and Di�sgy�r goalkeeper. 1939 and 1948, and for 15 games kept the goalkeeper job for the hungarian national team.
from Albert to-Zsak book writes: "Toth George is very high quality skilled goalkeeper known for football nation. Flexibility particularly large and exceptional reflexes seemed exceptional. He could show rarely seen actions thanks to his brilliant capibilities. Saved hopeless shots blocked a way of a multitude of reflex saves of higher-ups and rapid movements, quick catlike dives. His positioning and ball handling also been exemplary.
Modern conception played: leave the goal line boldly fiercely.
Popeye's nickname known among the most outstanding goalkeepers. Best performance in the first caps on the occasion of 24 September 1939 match against Germany 5:1 he showed his talent. Newcomer existence of the field was one of the best. "As a rookie he was the Best on the field"
After the WWII the Ujpest Football Club UTE signed him as number one, to the team as

Nyers defected to France, and to Italy Zsengell�r "defected"
AS Rome so one wanted a treatment of Ujpest and the communist system. Szucs was killed by failed attempt to leave.

This Ujpest had 45 game winning strake best of that time, setting a  record what still stands.

With Ujpest  in 1945 (post war) won the championship M�VAG 7: 0 and 12: 3 The defending champion dominated by purple and white after the 1945-46 championship notice also won all championship game  between 23 September 1945 and 26 May 1946. It's also been at all competitive games since the Hungarian Cup was not out of the post-World War II Europe is also a disruption in the international struggle (as in the Central European Cup, which is only held again in 1951).

Finished carrier in Diosgyor 1952, than coached pro football in Budapest, Szallitok, Penzugyor, Gazmuvek than the National Team of Mali 1970-74. With VAC reached the best of 8 in Hungarian Cup 1975. Retired and visited son Zoltan in New York and San Diego as well.

1975 to 1979 Ujpesti Dozsa Budapest. Best goalkeeper and soccer player in 1979.Hungarian National Selected to play in the 1978 Argentine World Cup, and Olympic team. Played for UEFA, and Champions Cups. Hungarian National Champion 1977-78 and 1978-79. Defected to USA from Spain Cadiz in 1979 August.

1979 to 1984 New York Arrows Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale, New York. 1980-1981, 1981-1982 MISL Champion. Best records set in winning percentage, and GAA. Became All-Star 1983 and 1984. Goalkeeper of the year in 1983.

1984 to 1985 San Diego Sockers Jack Murphy Stadium, San Diego, CA. Professional soccer player. Division champions in NASL. In 10 regular games, reached 7 clean sheet.

1984 to 1990 San Diego Sockers, Sports Arena, San Diego, CA. Champion 1985-'86-'88-'89-'90. Record set 1988 in 2.98 GAA. Goalkeeper of the year 1988. Still hold records in winning percentage, playoff wins, championship achieved by a goalkeeper in USA. Goalkeeper of the �80 decade award winner. 1990 to 1992 St. Louis Storm, St. Louis Arena, St. Louis, MO. Professional soccer player. Set carrier high wins in the season with outstanding 24 wins - 10 loss in regular season.
